Try putting double quotes around the *. I use this every night
and it works OK for me on 9.40.FC6X2.

Dostats uses the FOR SPECIFIC keywords and that's what causes
the excessive log activity. If you check the logs with onlog you will
see all of the logging activity is on the sysprocplan table.
