Displaying program arrays
Posted in 1992
I have a screen array / program array display question. In my application there are 2 different forms: page1.per and page2.per. Each page has an 4 row screen array. Page2 is a horizontal continuation of page1. In essence I am trying to display a spreadsheet that won't fit on a the screen width-wise. By using a function key the user can toggle between the two pages to view the columns that aren't on the current page and by displaying a 'row number' the user can line the two pages up. The program array contains 50 rows. This is display only data. The problem I am having is how do I maintain the displayed rows between the two pages. For example, the user has scrolled down to row 8 of the program array on page1. So rows 5 - 8 of the program array are displayed in page1's screen array. Now the user wants to view page2. When page2 is displayed I want rows 5 - 8 of the program array displayed automatically in page2's screen array. Currently page2's screen array gets 'reset' and displays rows 1 - 4 of the program array and the user is forced to scroll down until the correct rows are again displayed. How do I get the right rows to display for the user? I am using the 'display array' statement and must continue to use this statement because of its 'on key' statements. Using arr_curr() I know what line of the program array the user's cursor is on. Using scr_line() I know what row of the screen array the cursor is on. I have tried the 'scroll' statement without success. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am running I4GL version 1.10.03K and ISQL version 2.10.03K on an HP 9000/370.
