yet another oninit -i question

I set up informix environment as stated in Administrator's guide.. what happend was: venezia% oninit -i This action will initialize INFORMIX-OnLine; any existing INFORMIX-OnLine databases will NOT be accessible - Do you wish to continue (y/n)? y 19:07:34 shmat: [EMFILE][24]: out of shared memory segments, checksystem SHMSG 19:07:34 mt_shm_init: can't create virtual segment oninit: Fatal error in shared memory creation venezia% What is the correct value to SHMSEG kernel parameter??? where in the manuals can I found some indication, if any...
