Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Tim,
If you are using unix try the "cron" or "at" command to run at a
specified time. You will need to embed the ontape command in a script
like this:
#!/bin/ksh
#
ontape -s -L 0 <<EOI
EOI
# End of script
This will send a carriage return after starting ontape. The tape must
be in the drive already.
If you are using NT there is an at command but I don't know how you
supply the carriage return.
Regards
David

Hello,
I need to run an unattended Level 0 backup via the "ontape -s -L 0"
command.
Does anyone know how, or has anyone already done this? If so, could you
point me in the right direction as I am new to Informix and databases in
general? Any help is appreciated.
