Re: Recommendation of a 3rd Party Backup software package
Posted in 1999
I tried it with IDS 7.31.UD2, XPS 8.11, UDO 9.x and i am on the edge to
try with XPS 821.UD3
The only problem with this version is that Informix changed the
bar_version as external table which was not the case with other
versions. As per release note it should work fine and you do not need
to Insert any record in bar_versiob b'coz it will populate from
sm_versions file. Somehow it does not work and Informix recognize it as
bug# 91904. Informix do have patch for it. I am waiting for that patch
and then i will try with 821.UD3.
All the version exists on the same machine. It was just a functional
testing which i did. I will do performance test also with Legato for
IDS, XPS and UDo.
Legato is really awesome. I worked with other SM also. Legato is easy
and more flexible.
I will be more happy to answer any other question on the Informix with
Legato. I will appreciate if others can use their experiences.
