No. Having said that, for versions of ESQL/C after 7.20, you can use a
separate connection for each database. While you will not be able to
join across the connections you should be able to accomplish anything
that you need to do and faster than accessing the second database
remotely from the first! The only 2 things to remember is that for your
transactions to survive switching connections back and forth you need
to declare any connection on which you will have transactions "WITH
CONCURRENT TRANSACTION" and at most one of the connections can be a
shared memory connection, the rest must be network or stream pipe
connections. See the source code for dbcopy.ec in my submission to the
IIUG Software Repository named utils2_ak for an example of using two
concurrent connections to move data from one database to another
regardless of the logging modes of each.
