Tim, People are gonna jump on your back for cross-posting your survey, but I feel simpatico toward a fellow community college adjunct (I teach sociology when I'm not middling around with the computers in the car parts factory I work (/telecommute) at. I can make actual, real, negotiable currency with computers -- something that's hard to do as an adjunct. But I love teaching and won't stop.) Anyway, I'll answer number 6 for you. I think employees need to learn Visual Basic for Applications, Visual Basic, WordBasic, LotusScript, etc. People generally need to learn to automate applications, not necessarily how to create them from scratch. And *everyone* should learn HTML right now. But even this is beyond the scope of training needs of ordinary workplaces. Most of the time, you're just trying get people to stop writing letters with Excel! As for the cross-posting, well, you'll get along better with everyone if you don't do it that way -- especially with something like a survey. Otherwise they will beat you up. And adjuncts get beat up enough as it is. Best, Robin -- rmarkowitz@earthlink.net Visit my web site, "Cultural Studies Central" http://home.earthlink.net/~rmarkowitz/
