This box is a Sun E450 with a Sun storedge T3 array attached. The O/S version is Solaris 8 and IDS 7.31 UD2XG. We have the VERITAS Netbackup datacenter 4.5 GA MP5 residing in our PRD DB server. The PRD DB Level -1 bkup takes 1.5 hrs with the same DB size. QAS is recently refreshed from PRD. Though the bkup on QAS is going over the network to our master server on PRD, i wont suspect our T3 network for level-1 bcos our level-0 on the QAS box is performing well. It takes abt 11 hrs to complete for a whole-system serial backup on a DLT-7000 tape drive that can take a max of 10000 k /sec. We consider this as a good performance considering our current tape drive h/w. Our level-1 shoud finish inside 2 hrs at the max. i checked the iostat on the QAS and it averaged btw 20000 KB to 30000 KB per second. I dont see the oldpages bug running on the system. What could be the issue here with level-1 just on this box ? Any help is greatly appreciated. Regards Rajesh Rajasekaran Informix Database Administrator Forest Pharmaceuticals Inc.
