I had the same problem trying to get Crystal reports to work with Informix NewEra using Informix's ODBC drivers. The problem seems be with with Informix supplied drivers. If you use the Intersolv ODBC drivers that are supplied with Crystal Reports 5.0, you should have no porblems.
