Hi,
you can run dbaccess in a command line fashion as well.
a) Either put all the statements you want to execute into a
text file, e.g. named "this.sql" and then run dbaccess like
this if you do not connect to the database with one of the
statements in the file:
dbaccess <database name> this.sql
If you have a database connect statement in the file, then
run dbaccess the following way:
dbaccess - this.sql
b) If you want to run dbaccess in commandline mode but
interactively, then try the following:
dbaccess <database name> -
or
dbaccess - -
(note the blank/space between the two "- -".)
These will give you an SQL prompt, ">" where you
can enter SQL statements intecatively.
Make sure (whether in the file or interactively) to end
each statement with a semicolon (';').
To exit dbaccess in interactive mode type "CTRL-C".
Before doing that better close the database
("CLOSE DATABASE;" statement) to avoid confusion
about uncommited data ...
Happy new year,
Martin
