Well, if they are just the pseudo tables, then I doubt the
server will miss 'em. Could be you have some ancillary
software that might do queries against them though. If
you're worried or you discover a case where you really
need them, you could consider forcing the 'sysmaster'
database to be rebuilt. (You can do this without
reinitializing the server; see below.)
If you are missing any real sysmaster tables that you need,
I hope you had them backed up (sysaudit, arc_*).
If just pseudo tables disappered, you could rebuild
sysmaster as follows (at your next opportunity to bounce
the server). (Note: there may be a hidden command to force
sysmaster rebuild w/o bouncing the server, that I am not
aware of; this is kind of a brute force approach.)
(1) If you are using sysaudit and/or arc_* tables (or have
any other real table in sysmaster), unload them. For example
see $INFORMIXDIR/etc/smi_unld
(2) Just before shutting down the server, issue the following
as user informix:
drop database sysmaster
(3) Restart the server. It should detect that sysmaster is
missing and rebuild it for you.
(4) If you unloaded any data, reload it now (for example,
see $INFORMIXDIR/etc/smi_load
