Mass Disk Storage and Informix

Hello all! We are planning on installing a new larage storage device from IBM called ESS F20 with about 2 Terabytes of space. Does anyone know if there are any known issues with this hardware and Informix v7.31uc4 running on Sun 5.6? I know there are other companies with Informix and other storage devices but not anyone with this piece of hardware. Thanks. John Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/

Your biggest problem is going to be carving 2 TB of disk into 1024 2GB chunks so that you can use the disk space with IDS 7.3x (or 9.2x). XPS 8.3x would probably be able to make better use of bigger chunks -- anybody know the upper limit on XPS chunk sizes on large-file file systems? -- Yours, Jonathan Leffler (Jonathan.Leffler@Informix.com) #include <disclaimer.h> Guardian of DBD::Informix v1.00.PC1 -- http://www.perl.com/CPAN "I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it!"

So breaking it up into smaller bits isn't that big of a deal. As always this varies from system to system... My opinion is not based on a single test or benchmark, so should be treated as such :) Will Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/
