Dear All, Can a column with SERIAL data type be used in a form as an INPUT field ? Thanks in advance. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Photos - Share your holiday photos online! http://photos.yahoo.com/

No, on the theory that it's kinda silly, so 4GL enforces it as a NOENTRY field regardless of whether you think the same way. If you REALLY want to edit a serial field, you'll have to define sf = formonly.sf type integer, comments = "whatever"; and then possibly handle the transfer of the value to and from the screen and table or whatever variables you are using, depending on the programming style you are using.
