Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

SysTables has an entry for the version number.
The TabName column contains ' VERSION' (leading space significant!).
The Owner column contains the version number:
$ sqlcmd -d apt -e "SELECT TabName, Owner FROM SysTables WHERE TabName = ' VERSION'"
VERSION|7.22C1
