Visual Basic front-end tool with backend Informix Engine

Hi netters, A colleague of mine was stuck with Visual Basic script which tries to retrieve some data from Informix database. The connection to the database is thro' ODBC SQL RETRIEVAL. The way visual passes its query is through passing a string containing the SQL statement to Informix for processing. What we don't understanding is that an error is return when trying to use a date or datetime column in the WHERE portion of the sql. an example : 'select * from pl_status_ww where month_ym = current' Note that month_ym has a datatype datetime. By right, Informix should be taking this statement and process it and then return the results. However, the feedback on this query is that it cannot understand CURRENT.
