Coming in v.Next. I seem to remember seeming something about online upgrades whilst HDR is in use for v.Next but I can't find the slide again on IBM's website...
Aha. found it on the IIUG site... http://www.iiug.org/resources/webcasts/replay/06apr05.ppt IDS vNext (end of the year-ish) - Smooth Upgrade of HDR - Online table re-org - Dynamic Reconfiguration - Auto Update Stats - Auto Disk Mgmt - RAS - Autonomics I wonder what dynamic reconfiguration is (onconfig changes on the fly? how far with this go?) Auto Update Stats (woo hoo!). What additional RAS stuff will be added? And just what Autonomics?

What is? -- Bye now, Obnoxio "C'est pas parce qu'on n'a rien ' dire qu'il faut fermer sa gueule" - Coluche did i mention i like nulls? heck, i even go so far as to say that all columns in a table except the primary key could/should be nullable. this has certain advantages, for example, if you need to insert a child record and you don't have a parent row for it, just do an insert into the parent table with the primary key value (everything else null), and voila, relational integrity is preserved. but this is, admittedly, a bit controversial among modellers. --r937, dbforums.com

And further down I got this link: http://www.computerworld.com/networkingtopics/networking/management/story/0,10801,100912,00.html And when I combined the term Informix with it I got: a bunch of junk threads My guess is it is self tuning self reorganizing features. If marketing is involved it could be as simple as rolling back the incomplete transactions when the database is brought online. ;-)
