Re: Reliability of Informix on DEC Alpha
Posted in 1997
Hi Georg, We have had a DEC Alpha 4000/610 for about 4 years. Initially running SE 5.0, it has now graduated to running OL 7.20UC4. We started with DEC UNIX v 1.0 and, upgrading in stages, have reached v3.2C. Problems? None to talk about. Unplanned downtime due to DEC-Informix - I cannot remember any! We are completely satisfied (is there such a thing?) with the DEC-INFORMIX OL/SE combination. All our remote locations are within Kuwait, so we are'nt really a 24x7 site, but if, tomorrow, the CEO decided to open a new branch in, say, New Zealand, I would be tossing and turning in my sleep.
