Well, I've taken this a step further in trying this on my home Linux system (RH/libc5)(SE 7.24.UC5). And it works fine. The system that I have problems with is SCO. Is it most likely the old version of Informix or could it be that I'm missing a compiler flag? Again, any help is appreciated. Thanks.
