4gl curses library

We are trying to link together a ESQL/C program which uses curses to a 4gl program. Informix uses a modified version of curses in 4gl and the c-program works OK if you link with the standard curses library, but dumps core if you link it with 4gl. So the question is: Has anyone done this?
