Reduce size of 4GL executables

Our development environment uses: Informix I4GL Version 6.00.UE2 and Online V6.00.UE3 (on HP-UX 9.04) My problem is that the size of an executable from 'c4gl' is on average very large (3-4Mb each). Even a small 4GL with 10 or 20 lines of simple sql will result in a 600/700Kb file! This means that 600 odd programs in various environments take up a lot of file-sustem space. I expect the problem is to do with the number and size of the HP and Informix shared libraries included at link time, but are there any neat tricks I can do to either: 1. exclude any unnecessary libraries from the link-edit; 2. get Informix to use 'dynamic-loading' of shared libraries, whereby these libraries are linked in dynamically at run time to improve memory management and generally make things more efficient.
