Re: INFORMIX SE

Using recycled bits, Didier Festers blurted out: %Hi, % %I just finished to install Informix SE under my ReHat Linux box. It %works fine. Congratulations. %But someone can help me to find informations on how to build a good %structured database under SE? See the "Additional Resources" links in the FAQ referred to in my signature. %Is it better to make only one table in a database or can I construct a %lot table ? It depends. Simple databases usually have fewer tables; well-designed databases don't have repeating fields. You really want a good book on database design to get you up to speed on the theory. To implement your design using Informix, I highly recommend Informix's documentation, a link to which is provided in the above-mentioned FAQ. %How does works indexes? Have I only one Index or can I build a index for %each table? You can build, up to 16 indexes on 8 columns. %Thanks to reply both news and -> D.festers@bezh.bull.be Sorry, you post here, you read here.
