I have used NewEra and the AFCL since the first time they came bundled together (Ver 2). We have opted to use it because of the many advantages it offers, mainly tabbed windows, zoom windows and the nice look and feel. Well, a year and a half later, after a deplying a major system, we are considering scrapping the AFCL completely. Yes, it was an uphill road all the way. The AFCL has some bugs and Informix does not support it. Hence we could never get any help from them. We ended up rewriting most of the code and many times had less control over what we were trying to do. In Our next project we will probably completely dump the AFCL and use our own classes. The visual appearance of our programs might lose on this but we will definately gain more control over applications, and whenever a bug creeps in, we have the satisfaction of knowing we can fix it rather than having to go through other people's sources (and that is not rare). Believe me, NewEra is good but the AFCL, well... NO! Godwin
