HA (HDR) Replication Question

IDS 11.50.FC5 AIX 5.3 (4K Page Size) I am trying to determine how replication will work under this scenerio: Server A (my future primary) has multiple databases which contains tables which are actually located on other servers and are accessed through the use of synonyms. Inserts and updates are pushed into these tables, which contain blob fields -- soon to be converted into smart blobs. How will HA (HDR) Replication handle these tables? Since the tables themselves are physically in another Informix instance on another server, will it: a. Perform the transaction on Server A and the third server, then replicate over to the Secondary and attempt to again insert/update into the third server, b. Process the transaction on Server A and the third server, then replicate only what is actually stored on Server A to the Secondary? c. Fail the transaction since it cannot resolve the synonyms references to a third machine. d. Something else? Thanks in advance. If only synonyms are used on the HDR primary/secondary, then there will= be nothing to replicate as all of the actual work is done on a remote thir= d system. = From: "Clifton Bean" <clifton_bean@hotmail.com> = = To: ids@iiug.org = = Date: 11/20/2009 03:01 PM = = Subject: HA (HDR) Replication Question [18177] = = Sent by: ids-bounces@iiug.org = = IDS 11.50.FC5 AIX 5.3 (4K Page Size) I am trying to determine how replication will work under this scenerio:= Server A (my future primary) has multiple databases which contains tabl= es which are actually located on other servers and are accessed through th= e use of synonyms. If data is updated on server A (primary) then those updates will be replicated to secondary, otherwise nothing to replicate. - Nilesh - ids-bounces@iiug.org wrote on 11/20/2009 02:59:56 PM: > From: > > "Clifton Bean" <clifton_bean@hotmail.com>: > > To: > > ids@iiug.org > > Date: > > 11/20/2009 03:01 PM > > Subject: > > HA (HDR) Replication Question [18177] > > Sent by: > > ids-bounces@iiug.org > > IDS 11.50.FC5 AIX 5.3 (4K Page Size) > > I am trying to determine how replication will work under this scenerio: > > Server A (my future primary) has multiple databases which contains tables > which are actually located on other servers and are accessed through the use > of synonyms.
