What I really would } like to know is there a way round this. } What's happening is because you are logged in over the network, the ESC and the rest of the F-key sequence are arriving too far apart for Informix to recognise them as one key. In your .profile (or whatever) set DBESCWAIT=1 and export it. What this does is tell Informix to wait a full second before timing out on an escape-sequence. If 1 doesn't work, try 2.
