Hello! I have Informix foundation 200 installed in Solaris and I need know if is posible create users in Informix without relation with unix users. My users work in windows95 with ODBC, they don't login in the unix system. Using Informix tools only you have to have a login account on the UNIX server, HOWEVER, it does not have to have a valid password if you want to connect without passwords, and if you want to require passwords then have the sysadmin make the default shell log the user out immediately. Either way you have created an account for attaching to the database without permitting the users to login to the server at the UNIX level. Art S.
