One way to do that is to increase the BUFFERS to be 20% of physical
memory for OLTP systems. For pure OLTP I believe you could probably go
as high as 50%. However before doing that look at the %rcache and
%wcache in onstat -p. If these rates are already high (%rcache >= 95%
and %wcache >= 90%) your system is probably well tuned already.
Also check up onstat -g seg and see if you have more than one Virtual
segment. You may want to increase your ONCONFIG parameter SHMVIRTSIZE
(and SHMADD) to allocate a single virtual segment.

I have the feeling that we aren't using all the memory that we could be in
our system (actually, I KNOW we aren't using all our memory), and would
like to possibly speed up our ONLINE DS 7.2 system by maybe using memory
more, if it might help. What stats should I be looking at? What should I
consider tweaking?
