Env. Variable and Stored Procedure

Hi, All Anybody knows how to pass a Unix environment variable to a Stored Procedure? For example, to pass or get a printer device name to a Stored Procedure. Any suggestion is appreciated. yanyan@jhunix.hcf.jhu.edu
