Performance in applications using them became horrible after we installed Informix 7.1 and recompiled with the 7.1 tools. Informix's helpful advice was not to use subqueries. Although we have been told that applications should be recompiled with the 7.1 tools, we have found that recompiling the applications using the 5.02 tools causes the performance to return to previous level. My feeling is that there is a bug in the 7.1 tools. (I am speaking specifically of ESQL/C applications). S. Eric Asberry
