Re: How do I find trial unix versions of oracle, sybase, informix,

Try SCO Unix (http://www.sco.com) for x86-based PC's; I've been told that you can get a free copy from them if you're not developing commercial software (just how many non-US citizens get this freebie, I can't say). Then check your local Informix distributor for the trial s/w you need. I have PartitionMagic installed in my system, but my understanding is that it works well (with no data loss) only under Windows. To install SCO Unix you DO NOT use PartitionMagic to create UNIX partitions. I've been trying for over eight months to get Windows95 and SCO Unix to coexist on the same PC -- finally had to use V Communications' System Commander, a boot manager, to get it done. I use PartitionMagic to create and change DOS/Windows95 partitions only -- changing partition boundaries for UNIX partitions can give undefined results at best and corrupted file systems at worst!
