Check the faq. For an excelent description of all the issues with such connections see the papers available at http://www.openlinksw.com (or http://www.openlink.co.uk). Both the ODBC whitepaper and the Xerox article is revealing. OpenLink also makes very high quality ODBC drivers you can use. Whether you use their drivers or not you should be aware of all the issues described in the above documents before you even start out using ODBC.
