onprobe, is it worth it ?

I am considering using onprobe as the basis of a monitoring system for our Informix engines, with an triggered events being written to a script which will act upon the message accordingly (file away as information, e-mail someone with a warning, ring the large fire bell until someone fixes the machine sort of thing). What I would like is opinions on: 1. Is onprobe a "good" product ? 2. Do people use it in this way on large critical systems ? 3. Is it supported in subsequent releases of Online 7 ? (we are at 7.13) 4. Is it supported in subsequent releases of Online 9 (IUS) ? 5. Is this a good idea ?
