Any ADSM probs after Informix upgrades?

We run Informix 7.30.uc7a on HP-UX 11.00 and use onbar with HP's Omniback II
storage manager and I've been asked to investigate changing to using ADSM
I've searched the newsgroup archive and there don't seem to be any major
problems. All I can find is: 1) the need to delete unwanted log backups from
ADSM, and 2) ocassional "unspecified XBSA error 96"s
but our Unix support group comment that they "have run into major
difficulties with delays between Oracle releasing a version of their DBMS and
IBM releasing the corresponding version of their ADSM Connect Agent".
What has been the experience of other Informix sites using ADSM? Has anyone
ever had backup problems after an Informix upgrade because the new Informix
software was not compatible with the existing ADSM software?
TIA

Before you buy.
I've not seen any problems using various levels of 7.3x with ADSM. Again,
here's another advantage of Informix over Big O -- the OnBar utility
conforms to the XBSA standard, as does ADSM. So, as long as the standard
remains, neither system should really CARE what version of database or ADSM
API is being used.
In other words, your tech people are reeling in a HUGE red herring.
