Hi there In current versions of Informix OnLine the only way to reliably run unattended backups etc is to run with OnArchive or OnBar. OnTape clears the input buffer before asking questions. A custom routine could be written to sit at the other end of a pipe but why bother if you can use OnArchive or OnBar.
