yes, that wxactly what I want to do, thanks. Now I have a nother question. I want to include in my where statement a condition like : comp_colonneA[1,length(comp_colonneB)]=comp_colonneB I mean comp_colonneB is a part of comp_colonneA where comp_colonneA and comp_colonneB are aliases (comp_colonneA=col1||col2||col3.., comp_colonneB=col11|col12|col13..) Could any body help me please ! It would seem that what you want is to compare the first N characters of
comp_colonneA to the entire length of comp_colonneB where N is the length
of comp_colonneB, true? You cannot do that in 7.2x because the substring
notation does not permit it, however, in 7.3x you can use the new substr()
function:
SELECT *
FROM table
WHERE SUBSTR( comp_colonneA, 1, length(comp_colonneB) ) = comp_colonneB;
