Error Creating Synonym
Posted in 2008
Summary
A user on HP-UX with IDS 10.00.FC6 couldn't create a synonym on server A pointing to a table on server B when the remote table contained a BOOLEAN column, getting "SQL Error (-999): Not implemented yet." Tables without BOOLEAN worked. Replies explained this is a limitation: cross-server distributed queries with extended data types weren't supported in v10 (only possible within the same instance); IDS 11.10 added support for BOOLEAN, LVARCHAR and distinct types of basic types in distributed queries. So upgrading was the path forward.

I am trying to create a synonym on server A of a table on server B.
create synonym 'informix'.syn_table_a
for db1@serverB:table_a
If the table contains a boolean data type, I get this error
SQL Error (-999): Not implemented yet.
Tables without boolean data type work fine.
Any ideas?
HP-UX 11 IDS 10.00 FC6

Support for distributed queries using extend data types was enhanced in IDS
11.10. This includes the boolean (and others) datatypes.
In v10 it's possible if the databases are on the same instance which I presume
is not your case...

Fernando is correct.
IDS 11.10 supports boolean, lvarchcar and distinct types of basic types
+boolean+lvarchar
in distributed queries across IDS servers.
