If not how does it work M, this is not correct. A BLOB may be in the TBLSPACE or in a separate BLOB space. When it is in the BLOBspace, it will be allocated a full BLOB page even if the actual data is only 1 byte of BLOB data. If the BLOB is in the TBLspace, then the data will be stored on a BLOB page in the TBLspace but if it does not fill this BLOB page, the space is still available to be used by blob data of other rows. If there is no BLOB data in the INSERT, then no disk space is allocated for the BLOB.
