News.COM has been known to do this before. Make slight corrections without any notifications. It doesn't surprise me. My point in bringing this up is that Informix does not yet have the mindshare or branding that it should. This gets back to the glaring obvious that Informix does not yet have an effective marketing strategy. I mean, if a reporter who is in the tech sector forgets that Informix exists, or considers it a second tier player, then how is the project manager or CIO (Whom Informix tries to sell to) going to react when they hear FUD about Informix. Here's something you may find amusing.... http://www.pathfinder.com/fortune/1997/970609/fir3.html Its the article on the battling billboards. Informix made a good attempt, but they left themselves open to a witty comeback by Oracle. Currently, this AM, Informix's stock hasn't moved and seems to have bottomed out. Looks like everyone is waiting for some news to come from Informix. I think that there's a sales conference going on. Perhaps Informix may be outlining their new and improved strategy to their Partners? Oh well, lets wait and see what Informix cooks up next...... -Mikey FWIW, I should point out that I am, like others totally disappointed with Informix's management. The products are the best out there, but having a great product is not enough. When Informix does decide to have their shareholders meeting, I'll be there. -- #include <std_disclaimer.h> /* Mike Segel (MS385) */ #include <No_Spam.h> #ifdef OFFENDED_BY_CONTENT The author takes no responsibility for this post.
