Sound like either you have the wrong port of Informix (ELF instead of
COFF binaries or something similar) or you could try setting the
enviroment variable KAIO_OFF to 1 to disable Kernal Asynchronous IO
(KAIO). Also check you release notes in
$INFORMIXDIR/release/ONLINE_7.2
