Keep hearing about it, could someone please send me some manual
pages for oraperl, so I know what I'm missing ? And an
indication of how difficult it is to add extensions in, if poss. ?

A fine idea (and it still works: thanks). Just wondering -
1. Why did you pipe into nawk, not perl ? 8^)
2. How do you get rid of the count(*) and similar column headings ?
I figure that 2>/dev/null in bourne sh gets rid of "Database
selected" and a lot of that kind of stuff, but if I try
SELECT COUNT(*) " " FROM foo
I just get a syntax error (idea is just to blank out the
heading, of course). Am I missing something really obvious ?
I ended up piping the output thru egrep -v 'count(*)|^$' to
cut the headings and the blank lines.

Ditto. Are you out there, Larry ? (and ta for the original if you
are !).
