Universal Server - multiple inserts from an AppPage

Hello - I'm currently trying to port an Illustra web application to the Universal Server. Things are going surprisingly well - but I've run into a wall. With our Illustra web app, we had forms with elements that would take multiple selections. ( For example, a group of checkboxes, a list box, etc.) To insert the results into the database, we would use the MIEXEC tag and run a perl script that created a suitable load file, and just copy it into the appropriate table. I can't seem to duplicate this approach with the Universal Server. I've tried the exact approach - using "load" instead of "copy" from a MISQL tag. But kept getting syntax errors. I've tried a few other things (mainly different ways of accessing the database via os-calls) none of which seem to work - and all of which are just way convoluted.
