Re: Question on tblspace tblspace

Pingu !!! Guess Who !! I have done a little research into this little baby and found the following:- tblspace tblspace is assigned by the server as and when required and adds 50 pages at a time ( default ) whenever a tblspace tblspace needs to be increased. As you have found out, the tblspace tblspace gets rather fragmented but this shouldn't be too much of an issue as each tblspace tblspace holds information about different tables ( rather than a linked list of the same table information being passwd from tblspace to tblspace ). I eventually got the information back from my server and we also have hundreds of tblspace tblspaces scattered around the database ( 41GB worth ) and we have not encountered any adverse performance problems. I have spoken to ITS about it ( as a pssing comment ) and they said not to worry as the engine adds space as and when it needs it. Hope this helps. If you find anymore about it I'd like to know !!
