Michael I guess it would be a shame not to add something here after your prompt :) To answer the question, there are really two options and one of them has been highlighted already which is the grant revoke permissions. The second option is simply setting the connection on your ODBC datasource to be Read-Only. Most ODBC drivers should have this option. The only downside to this is that , if the individual making the connnection knows how to turn the option off in the datasource. That is were we have an advantage in that we have a server override option which immediately removes that possibility.
