Anyway, I was off the net for a while and did not see your post. I wouldn't expect to see very much performance improvement at all, except that you can run 24*7 now instead of taking users off-line to do a backup. There are many tunable parameters available in OnLine, but performance increases from them are *incremental*, and not really significant compared to indexing and application changes. It was easy for us. We did it at v4.x, on Ultrix platforms. It was hard for the folks at our Bellwood operation Richmond, who did it at v5.buggy, on the AIX platforms. (I think the corporate HQ staffers who are working on it have formed a team to study the feasibility and issue a report about the minutes of the committee who is meeting about this vital issue--really!) I say...thumbs up. Gopher it. Just Do It. OnLine is so much more complicated that it gives a world of job security and consulting opportunity for people who read this list. But pay close attention to version numbers, their problems, and the release notes. And keep that old code handy. You know what they say, "A little pain..." Also, does the FAQ address this?
