I am again trying to get OAT working on my laptops. Since I am a consultant on permament assignment to Krogers, I have two laptops. One from Kroger, one from CSC. Both are running Windows XP professional Service Pack 2. I have installed Client-SDK 3.50 on both and can get Ilogin demo to work. I have installed OAT_2.23_install_windows.exe and the installation seems to work fine. Afterwards I reboot and do the following. 1. "Start Apache Monitor" 2. "Start Apache Service for OpenAdmin" 3. "OpenAdmin Toll for IDS" Internet explorer comes up and tries to connect to: http://ae140521:8080/openadmin/index.php after a few seconds it gives me the following error: Access Denied (Policy_denied) your system policy has denied access to the requested URL For assistance, contact your network support team. I've called my Kroger PC support people. They say that they can not help me because OAT is not one of the offical Kroger applications they support. I've called Informix Tech support, and maybe I phrased my question wrong, but I was told the OAT is really not an IBM product. So I'm submitting this to the user group. My uneducated guess is that there is security/firewall/stuff on my laptops that prohibits my web browser from attaching to a web server running on my own laptop or on port 8080 or something. My next guesses are to try using a loopback address instead of my PC name. Which means reinstalling OAT and answering the questions differently? or is there a way to change that once it is installed. After that I've thought I could play around with using different port numbers, but again that means reinstalling each time right? Thought I'd ask if anyone has any suggestions before I spend more time on this.
Never mind. using the 127.0.0.1 worked. Now that I finally have it working, it is quite nice and usefull to use.
Just one quick guess: I would check the apache configuration as to which hostname and port apache is listening on. On windows this is the default location: c:\\\\Program Files\\\\OpenAdmin\\\\Apache_2.2_4\\\\conf\\\\httpd.conf I would check the directive # # ServerName gives the name and port that the server uses to identify itself. # This can often be determined automatically, but we recommend you specify # it explicitly to prevent problems during startup. # # If your host doesn't have a registered DNS name, enter its IP address here. # ServerName 127.0.0.1:8080 and change it to something like ServerName johnnyfour:8080 You will have to restart apache for this to take effect.
