Open Windows and Core Dumps
Posted in 1997
UGH! I hate Core dumps!!! Can anyone tell me exactly what I am supposed to look for in a "core" file? Well, that's besides the point... although helpful. Here is the problem: I am running a application that puts message windows on the screen at various times. It seems that at one point in the program, I "end input" and the next time I try to "Open window at 12,2 with 1 line..." the core dumps. The exact message is: "MRHTB[8]11878 Memory fault (coredump)". Can anyone explain why opening a window would cause a memory fault? I have an open form window as well, and that doesn't close until the program's end. SYS INFO: We are running Informix V.4.10.UC (i4gl is UC4, isql is UC2) on a SCO OpenServer Release 5. I don't think we are running out of memory because I can call the "open window" function as many times as I like BEFORE I "end input". But as soon as I am out of the "Input" statement, the next "open window" call dumps! Thanks for any help, Michael Hoffman P.s. -- Thanks for those of you who responded to my previous question about Display and Input Array positioning. I now have a copy of the In4mix Faq (which had no answers for THIS question...). Although no answers were found, I appreciated the helpful responses. Hopefully, I'll get a workable solution on this question.
