Hey I'm not just talking about IBM's IM but IBM overall has lousy marketing. Its not just my opinion, but I happened to be sharing the elevator down with my neighbor who's the head of marketing of a small software company. Her company does partner with a lot of companies and said that IBM was definitely the worst to work with. (From a marketing perspective). BTW, she on her way to London... Did I fail to mention that she moon lites as an assassin and I gave her OTC's picture. :-P

Based on one conversation you had in an elevator, you reckons IBM's marketing is shit. I'm surprised you haven't emailed Steve Mills to tell him the news. -- Cheers, Obnoxio The Clown http://obotheclown.blogspot.com -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by OpenProtect(http://www.openprotect.com), and is believed to be clean.

Now, now clown... The point is that it isn't just my impression, but another person who's in marketing who has to deal with IBM. IBM is only interested in the brand IBM and not the specific brands or pillars. So when you see a TV ad where the they talk about green, they want you to think of IBM and not a specific product or service, but *all* of IBM. Which will drive BPs and specific product centric folk nutz. We've all been be-itching about marketing, only we're not marketing hacks we're the techies. It just is more validation that we're not the only ones who dislike IBM's marketing.
