Hi all, The RPMs I've got for this have unpacked properly, and I can see I'm probably meant to run the installserver script, but can't for the life of me find any install doco. the INSTLU7.3 is basically empty, and refers to the fact it's only for "late breaking" info. Does anyone have the install notes that go with this release? I don't want to go through the pain of intraware site just to get these. Ciao Fuzzy :-)

It is a real pain to omit a file from the Infomrix distributions just because it isn't needed for this release, so a dummy might be provided. As for documentation, you can go to http://www.informix.com/answers for that. Yes, you do need to run ./installserver with INFORMIXDIR=$PWD set in the environment (so I usually run INFORMIXSERVER=$PWD ./installserver). And you need to be root while you do this. You will hit return once, type in the licence number, the activation key, and a spare return. This will complete the installation. Now you are into configuring a database server -- a vast topic. There is documentation on that available too. -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.62 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>
