---Begin included stuff--------------------------------------------------------- Malcolm, Lighten up with the exclamation marks !!!!!!!! (or did your keyboard get stuck as mine just did ????????????????). Please re-read this thread as your addition is way off mark.............. The thread started thus:::::::::::::: > Does INFORMIX-OnLine/Secure remain the > "only" RDBMS product with a successful > NCSC B1/C2 evaluation? (As I know, in > 1994 Summer, it did.) This was a marketing claim of INFORMIX, that an INFORMIX user (or potential customer) was questioning !!!!!!!!!!!!! Perhaps a valid solution would be for you to create a new newsgroup - comp.databases.informix.weallans.only.no.competitive.info.allowed.and.no.cor rections.allowed.to.invalid.or.totally.misleading.posts.about.competitors.pr oducts ----End included stuff---------------------------------------------------------- Dear All, I move we create yet another newsgroup for Mr Sidwell: comp.databases.informix.opportunity.for.mr.sidwell.to.be.righteous.and.smug. and.holier-than-thou.and.waste.everybody's.bandwidth.with.stuff.that.only.he 's.interested.in....................... C'mon David, Malcolm is right: you've made your point, and there's always other people posting stuff about Sybase's benchmarks or Oracle's capabilities. So I suspect it's not just your post that Malcolm has reservations over. We're mostly here to discuss and resolve problems that the Informix community have, either through lack of user education or whatever... So the question was answered, I made what I thought was a humourous comment (clearly you didn't) and we're wasting bandwidth on something which the average Informix user (including me) has absolutely no interest in. Perhaps if you had e-mailed your observation directly to the original poster, or made your point without resorting to observations of Informix's marketing ethics (*still* pretty rich, coming from someone who works for Oracle! :), we wouldn't be wasting this bandwidth now... -- Cheers, Billy ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- New, improved, shorter .sig
