Detached Extent Question

Please refresh my memory.
If I create a detached index in the same dbspace as the table, will
extents be allocated in separate TBLSpaces (i think that's what they're
called)
i.e. create table table001 ... in dbspace001;
create index idx001 on table001 ... indbspace001;
In other words, will it be handled as a "separate entity" with it's own
extents? Assuming then, that if I allocate the first extent properly,
the data pages will not be interleaved with the index pages...
obviously, this is not ideal.
thanks for your input

Yes ... the indexes will be in separate tablespaces. This sizing of the
index extents is not directly configurable ... it is based on the size of
the table.
