What Update statistics plan is optimal for a GK Index on Joined Tables? FWIW, the foreign key on the first table is a concatenation of two columns to join to the primary key of the second table. TIA, Kevin Struckhoff Data Warehouse Consultant Yamaha Motors kevin_struckhoff@yamaha-motor.com
Never proven anything around this idea, but I can't imagine that the update stats would be any different for a GK index than an index column for joins...the same rules should apply. I would think that the optimizer would still want to know as much about the index and columns included in the GK as possible. Mr. Mules?
